Need a hand, found a bug, or want to report a name? Email mapfill.app@gmail.com and I'll get back to you. It helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the app version from Settings → About.
My map isn't filling in. MapFill needs location access to reveal the map. Open iOS Settings → MapFill → Location and choose “Always” so charting continues while the app is closed. Precise Location must also be on — without it iOS only reports a rough area.
Nothing was charted while the app was closed. That needs “Always” rather than “While Using the App.” If the app shows a banner about background charting, tapping it takes you to the right screen.
The terrain looks blank. Terrain art is downloaded, so it needs a connection. Your map still fills in offline — the colours fill in when you're back online.
What counts as a chunk? A chunk is one square of the grid, about 590 ft (180 m) on a side in the continental US. It only counts once you've revealed the whole square, so partly-covered squares don't score.
How do I add a friend? Open Profile → Friends and swap codes. Adding someone sends a request they have to accept — a code alone doesn't give anyone access to your data. You can remove a friend from that same screen at any time.
Can friends see where I am? No. Map sharing is off unless you turn it on, and even then it only shares the shape of the area you've revealed — never your live location. Turning it off deletes the shared copy.
How do I delete my data? Settings → Danger Zone → Show delete options. “Erase map data” clears the map on your phone; “Delete account” removes your name, friend code, score and any shared map from the server.
Long-press any player on the Scoreboard to report an offensive name. Reports are reviewed and acted on. You can also email the address above.
